A 19-year-old has been charged with murder after a brutal stabbing in Shirebrook, Derbyshire.
Horror on Valley Road: Man and Dog Stabbed to Death
Police were called to a house on Valley Road at around 8:45pm on Wednesday, 22 October, after reports of a stabbing. Armed officers swooped and arrested 19-year-old Logan Procter at the scene, suspecting murder.
The victim, 57-year-old Christopher Owen, was found with multiple stab wounds and tragically died at the property. In a shocking twist, a Jack Russell dog was also stabbed to death.
Teen Charged and Held in Custody
On Friday, 24 October, Derbyshire Police charged Logan Procter with murder and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. Procter, from Valley Road, was remanded in custody and is due in Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court today, Saturday, 25 October.
Ongoing Probe: Police Hunt for Witnesses
Detectives are pressing on with house-to-house enquiries. They’re urging anyone with information to step forward. Officers thanked those who have helped but stressed they need more tips to crack the case.
