James Brewer Pleads Guilty to Multiple Charges
James Brewer, 49, from The Slipway, Staverton, has admitted handling stolen goods, driving without insurance, and driving while disqualified. He faced the music today at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court following a stolen vehicle incident in central Trowbridge.
Swift Police Action Cracks Case
Wiltshire Police’s Trowbridge Response Teams sprang into action after a vehicle was reported stolen overnight between 15-16 May. Thanks to sharp CCTV investigations and seamless teamwork between Response Team 1 and Team 2, Brewer was identified and arrested just days later on Saturday.
The stolen car was also recovered intact, cutting the wheel out from under this crime spree.
Officer Praises Teamwork and Justice Served
“This sends a strong message: vehicle thieves putting lives at risk won’t get away,” said PC Langley, the investigating officer. “Diligent CCTV work and swift arrests by our Trowbridge teams helped recover the car and lock down key evidence. Brewer had no choice but to plead guilty.”

James Brewer is set for sentencing on 19 June 2025.
