Two Men Charged Over Stabbing in Folkestone
Stabbing Sparks Police Action
Police swooped on Tuesday after a 19-year-old man was stabbed in Folkestone. Officers were called to Cheriton Road just before noon on 25 August 2020. The victim suffered leg injuries consistent with a stab wound.
Victim Treated and Released
The injured man was rushed to a local hospital by the South East Coast Ambulance Service. Thankfully, he has since been discharged and is recovering.
Two Men Arrested and Charged
- Matthew Sales, 21, of no fixed abode, faces charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of a bladed article for the stabbing incident. He is also charged with similar offences linked to a separate attack on 23 August.
- Jed Coates, 31, also homeless, is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon relating to the Tuesday stabbing.
Both men are set to appear via video link at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 27 August.
Woman Released Under Investigation
A 25-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released but remains under investigation.
