Man Found Dead in Chalton Crescent: Drugs Blamed

Police were called at 7.02am on Monday, 19 June, after the grim discovery of a 53-year-old man’s body in Chalton Crescent. A Home Office post-mortem revealed the cause of death was drug intoxication. The Coroner is now leading the probe into the full circumstances surrounding Barry’s death.

Two Men Charged Over Concealing Body

During investigations, 47-year-old Dale Edmonds and 43-year-old Mark Walkley were charged with perverting the course of justice. The charges relate to hiding and disposing of Barry’s body after his death.

  • Dale Edmonds, from Warnford Crescent, Leigh Park, pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court on 24 August.
  • Mark Walkley, homeless, admitted the offence at the same court on 26 October.

Sentencing Date Set

Both men have been remanded in custody. They are due back at Portsmouth Crown Court for sentencing on 1 December.
