Two Men Charged with Murder After Woman Shot in Huyton Garden
James Witham and Joseph Peers Face Murder Charges
James Witham, 40, from Ashbury Road, Huyton, and Joseph Peers, 28, of Woodlands Road, Roby, have been charged with murder and possession of a firearm with intent. The Crown Prosecution Service authorised the charges following a police investigation.
Remanded in Custody Ahead of Court Appearance
Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Wirral adult remand court this morning, Tuesday 31st January. Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man from St Helens remains in custody on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Tragic Shooting on Leinster Road
Police were called to a property on Leinster Road just after 12.40am on Sunday, 21 August 2022, following reports of a distressed woman. Emergency crews found Ashley with a gunshot wound in the back garden. She was rushed to hospital but sadly died shortly after.
