Woman Sexually Assaulted in Broad Daylight in Dewsbury Town Centre
A brave woman has broken her silence after a terrifying sexual assault in Dewsbury town centre. After waiting three agonising months without a police update, she took to social media to warn others and share her horrific experience.
Chilling Attack Near Dewsbury Bus Station
On August 25, 2024, the victim was walking from Aldi to the bus station after attending a recruitment fair. Near the old WHSmith and Vodafone shops, a distressed man named Luke approached her, holding an unopened beer. He claimed he’d just been in a pub fight triggered by racist remarks from his girlfriend’s parents.
Out of kindness, she listened as Luke insisted on walking her to the bus station. He spoke about his troubles for half an hour. But once they reached the bus stand, the mood turned dark.
Horrific Assault in Full View of Bystanders
Outside the 202-203 bus stand, Luke suddenly declared he was “horny” and started groping her despite her protests. She tried to push him off, but he slammed her against a wall while passersby shockingly ignored the attack. He dragged her into a nearby alley between Asda and Farm Foods.
Luckily, a bystander named Josh spotted the assault. When he stepped in, Luke claimed they were a couple in a “domestic” dispute and chased Josh as he called the police. Luke then returned, forcing the victim to suffer further abuse, including biting her ear and hitting her against a police station pole.
Luke eventually fled over a fence as officers arrived, allowing the victim to escape to safety. Josh kindly lent her a portable charger so she could power her phone and call for help.
Luke Webster Sentenced, Victim Issues Warning
Luke Webster was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court in September 2024. The victim urges other women to stay clear of him. “If you ever come across this man, don’t go near him – I am not his first victim,” she warned.
This shocking case is a brutal reminder to stay vigilant and watch out for each other in public spaces.
