A Stafford woman has been caught red-handed with deadly weapons at her home. Kirsty Rigby, 34, was convicted of possession after police found a terrifying zombie knife and an extendable baton during a raid.
Zombie Knife and Baton Seized in Stafford Police Raid
Rigby appeared at Cannock Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 13, following a police search of her property on November 21 last year. The weapons were uncovered at a house off Marston Road in Stafford.
Deadly Weapons Details Revealed
- The extendable baton was black, featuring a spring-loaded locking mechanism and a sharp circular point at the handle’s base.
- The zombie knife had a menacing 8.5-inch serrated blade, plus an extra flat cutting blade at the bottom.
Government Cracks Down on Zombie Knives
Since September 2024, zombie knives are outright banned across the UK. The crackdown halts owning, making, importing, or selling these brutal blades in a tough stance against knife crime.
Police Celebrate Win for Community Safety
“When officers entered the property, the weapons were on full display. I’m glad the jury found Rigby guilty, and we managed to get these weapons out of circulation,” said PC Liam Matthews from Staffordshire’s rural and proactive team.
Rigby has been bailed and will face sentencing on April 23 at Cannock Magistrates’ Court.
