Gun Drama Shocks Barry Neighbourhood

South Wales Police swooped on a Barry home after a tip-off about a man armed with a firearm. The tense stand-off unfolded at around 11:30 a.m. on July 12 in Maes-Yr-Ysgol.

Multiple Arrests After Firearm Found

A 29-year-old man from Llandeyrn, Cardiff, was arrested and rushed to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, two more men — a 28-year-old from Splott and a 33-year-old from Fairwater — were also detained over possession of the weapon. One of them required hospital care following the arrest.

Area Locked Down as Police Secure the Scene

The street was quickly cordoned off, and residents were told to stay indoors during the operation. South Wales Police dispatched a firearms officer who safely recovered the weapon from the property.
