Body Found Near Southwick Beach in Emergency Operation

A body was recovered on Friday, January 5th, during a major emergency response near Southwick Beach. Shoreham Lifeboat crews launched quickly after the Coastguard paged the Inshore Lifeboat (ILN) just after 1:45 pm. The All-Weather Lifeboat (ALB) also joined the operation.

Rescue Teams Work Together at East Arm of Port

The recovery took place next to the east arm of the port, where police and emergency services set up a tight cordon. The rescue mission involved Shoreham and Littlehampton Coastguard teams, along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).

Police Confirm Body Recovery, Investigation Ongoing

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “The body was recovered with the help of Coastguard and lifeboat crews. The next of kin have been informed. The coroner’s officer is involved and the investigation is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.”
