Maida Vale Horror: Woman and Man Both Found Dead in Stabbing and Hit-and-Run

Tragic scenes unfolded in Maida Vale after two known to each other were found dead following a stabbing and a hit-and-run on Chippenham Road.

Victims Named: Yasmin Chkaifi and Leon McCaskre

The deceased woman has been identified as Yasmin Chkaifi, 43, of Maida Vale. The man, also from Maida Vale, is Leon McCaskre, 41.

Police were called at 9am on Monday, 24 January, responding to reports of a stabbing. Officers, alongside the London Ambulance Service and Fire Brigade, rushed to the scene.

Yasmin was found with stab wounds, while Leon was discovered having been struck by a car. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrest Made, Investigation Underway

A 26-year-old man, the driver of the car, stayed at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been cooperative and bailed to return to a police station in late February as the investigation continues.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Rawlinson, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said:

“Members of the public bravely tried to intervene to stop the attack. Their actions were very courageous.”

“We confirm the victims were previously known to each other. There are no other suspects at this time.”

“We ask the media not to speculate while awaiting two post-mortems. It’s crucial we stick to the facts.”
