Tragic Death of Young Woman in Tower Hamlets Crash
Detectives have named the woman who died in a fatal collision in Tower Hamlets. She was 26-year-old Charlotte Kenning from Goole, Humberside.
Family Mourns ‘Loveliest, Kindest’ Charlotte
Charlotte’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers. Her father paid tribute, saying: “Charlotte was the loveliest, most beautiful and kindest person you could ever wish to know. She will be sadly missed and was much loved by everyone who knew her.”
Fatal Crash Near Crossharbour DLR
Police and paramedics rushed to Limeharbour, near Crossharbour DLR station (E14), around 11:45pm on Saturday, 25 May, after reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
Charlotte was that pedestrian. Despite treatment at the scene and hospital care, she was pronounced dead the following day, Sunday 26 May.
Driver Remains at Scene, Police Seek Witnesses
The driver, who was behind the wheel of a red Vauxhall Astra, stayed at the scene and was not arrested. He will be interviewed in due course.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.
