Teen Girl Attacked at Bournemouth Beach

Horror unfolded at Bournemouth beach near the Oceanarium on Sunday, 18 July 2021. A 15-year-old girl was playing with friends around 3.30pm when a ball rolled towards a teenage boy.

After throwing the ball back, the boy started chatting to the girl. He then dragged her deeper into the sea and reportedly raped her.

Police Hunt Suspect with E-Fit

The attacker claimed to be 17 and said he was travelling to Birmingham, where he is believed to be from. Detectives describe him as possibly of Pakistani descent, tanned skin, 5ft to 5ft 7in tall, slim but muscular, with short, freshly trimmed dark hair pushed back. He wore black or grey swimming shorts.

Detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) have launched a full probe. Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour confirmed forensic evidence will help eliminate innocent people from the investigation.

“We have now obtained an e-fit image of the suspect and urge anyone who recognises him to get in touch,” said DI Seymour.

“There have been reports of young Asian men approaching female beachgoers that day, some exchanging Snapchat messages. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.”

“We also ask anyone on the beach near the Oceanarium that day to check photos or videos for anything suspicious.”

Community on Alert

Neighbourhood Inspector Darren Harris acknowledged public concern, promising boosted patrols along the seafront with council partners, continuing all summer.

Anyone with information is urged to contact local police immediately.
