Tragedy at White Cliffs of Dover: Man Found Dead at Cliff Base
Emergency crews rushed to the White Cliffs near Dover on Thursday after a body was discovered at the rocky base of the cliffs.
Massive Emergency Response at Langdon Bay
At around 1.15pm, police, paramedics, and coastguard rescue teams from Folkestone, Deal, and Langdon Battery scrambled to the scene. The Dover RNLI lifeboat was also dispatched to help recover the person, who was brought safely back to shore with a police officer onboard.
Death Not Treated as Suspicious
Sadly, despite the swift response, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Kent Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A coastguard spokesperson said: “His Majesty’s Coastguard has been assisting with an incident at Langdon Bay in Kent this afternoon (October 6). The Coastguard was made aware of the incident at around 1.15pm, and rescue teams along with an RNLI Dover lifeboat were on site. Kent Police and ambulance service remain in attendance.”
Police, ambulance, and coastguard services have been contacted for further comment.
