The family of Amie Gray, 34, have paid heart-wrenching tributes after she was fatally stabbed at Durley Chine Beach in Bournemouth on Friday night. The personal trainer from Poole was one of two women attacked in the shocking incident which has left the community reeling.

Police arrest Croydon man in murder probe

Dorset Police were alerted at 11.42pm on May 24 about the attack on the scenic beach. Amie tragically died at the scene. Another woman, aged 38 and also from Poole, suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized.

Authorities swiftly arrested a 20-year-old man from Croydon on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.

Family and wife mourn ‘extraordinary soul’

Amie’s mother, Sharon Macklin, spoke through tears: “When Amie entered a room, it filled with laughter. She was beautiful inside and out. Our lives feel empty without her. We will miss her immensely; our hearts are forever broken.”

Her wife, Sian Gray, added: “Amie was the most loving wife and mother. Her giggly laugh and big smile will be sorely missed. She was a larger-than-life character. I will cherish our memories forever. Thank you for all the love and support during this difficult time.”

Police appeal for public help

Detectives urgently urge anyone with information about the attack to come forward. Witnesses can submit details via the Major Incident Public Portal between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily. Alternatively, call Dorset Police on 101 quoting occurrence number 55240078013.
