Fatal Crash on A272 Near Petworth Linked to Driver’s Medical Episode
Police have wrapped up their probe into a deadly collision on the A272 near Petworth that left one man dead and another seriously injured.

Emergency crews rushed to Horsham Road near Fox Hill just before 8am on Monday, April 29. The crash involved a white Porsche, a white BMW, a black BMW, and a white Audi.
Reigate Man Dies at Scene, Midhurst Driver Hospitalised
Tragedy struck when a 74-year-old man from Reigate, Surrey, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 65-year-old from Midhurst, driving one of the other vehicles, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was treated in hospital.
Investigation Finds Medical Episode Caused Crash
Operation Preston was launched by police to get to the bottom of the crash. A post-mortem revealed the 74-year-old suffered a medical episode while behind the wheel, causing the fatal collision.
Officers have now closed the inquiry and thanked the public for their support during the investigation.
