Chaos in Bournemouth: Five Injured in Shocking Town Centre Incident
A major emergency unfolded in Bournemouth town centre yesterday, leaving five people injured near Bournemouth and Poole College’s Lansdowne campus. The scene was rapidly cordoned off as police and emergency services rushed to respond.
Arrests and Massive Emergency Response
Two suspects were arrested on suspicion of causing injury with intent. A third person faced arrest for assault by beating. Dorset Police confirmed a huge operation with five ambulances, two doctor’s cars, and three air ambulances scrambled to the area around Meyrick Road and Christchurch Road.
“Following initial officer response, the matter is now under investigation with police presence and several cordons established,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.
Eyewitnesses Describe Horror Scene
Student Henry Tootal, 20, witnessed the chaos.
“We saw loads of police cars, three people being taken out on stretchers, and several injured. Two people were held by armed police outside a hotel,” he said.
Kirsty Collins, 34, was equally stunned.
“I just popped to the shop for dinner and suddenly people were searching bins and bushes – it was terrifying,” she said.
Investigation Ongoing — Police Seek Witnesses
Officers set up cordons along Meyrick Road and outside the Roundhouse Hotel, combing through bins and foliage for evidence. Images captured at the scene show three men in police custody.
Bournemouth and Poole College confirmed the incident happened just outside their campus and pledged full cooperation with police. Four of the injured were taken to Poole Hospital; one was rushed to Southampton General Hospital.
