A man has been arrested following a reported rape in Bournemouth in the early hours of Friday, August 11, 2023. Dorset Police sprang into action after receiving a distress call about the attack near Horseshoe Common.

At 4.40am on August 11, Dorset Police were alerted to a woman’s alleged rape. Officers immediately launched a full-scale investigation, combing the area for evidence and witnesses to piece together what happened.
CCTV Appeal Leads to Breakthrough
On August 12, authorities appealed for public help with CCTV footage to track down a man they wanted to question. This public callout helped officers zero in on a 30-year-old local suspect, who was subsequently arrested on suspicion of rape.
“The victim has been made aware of the arrest and continues to receive full support from our team,” said Detective Inspector Nicky Jenkins, head of Bournemouth’s Criminal Investigation Department.
