Tragedy Strikes in Reading as Man Dies in House Fire
A man has tragically died after a fire broke out in a Reading home this morning. At 9:34am on Thursday 27 April, the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a property on Luscinia View, Reading, following reports of the blaze.
Fire Crews Race to Scene
Firefighters from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Dee Road, Whitley Wood, and Wokingham all responded swiftly. Backup came from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, along with the aerial ladder appliance from Whitley Wood and the incident command unit from Maidenhead.
Man Found Dead Amid Flames
Four brave firefighters, decked out in breathing apparatus, battled the fire using two hose reels. Despite their efforts, a man was sadly found dead at the scene.
Investigation Underway, No Suspicion of Foul Play
Thames Valley Police have cordoned off the area. At this stage, the fire is not believed to be suspicious. The cause is still under investigation.
