Woman Sexually Assaulted on Wirral Bus – Police Hunt Suspect

Merseyside Police are urgently searching for information after a woman was sexually assaulted on a bus in Wirral. The shocking attack happened on the Arriva 437 service headed to 1 at around 12:10 PM on Friday, April 26.

Details of the Assault

  • Location: The bus was stopped at Claughton Village, right opposite Birkenhead" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Birkenhead Sixth Form College.
  • The Attack: Two men boarded the bus and sat beside the victim. After striking up a conversation, one of them sexually assaulted her.
  • Quick Action: Fellow passengers stepped in and alerted the driver, who stopped the bus near Birkenhead Park station. The attackers fled on foot.

Police Release CCTV Image

1 have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to track down, believing he holds vital clues to the case.

“This was a distressing incident for the victim, and we are determined to bring those responsible to justice,” said Detective Inspector Sarah Wilkinson. “We urge anyone who recognises the man in the image to come forward as they may have vital information.”
