Two Men Arrested Over Prison Officer Attack at HMP Whitemoor

Two men have been snapped up by cops on suspicion of planning murder and prepping a terror attack at HMP Whitemoor. The arrests follow a shocking assault on a prison officer on January 9.

Brusthom Ziamani Among Those Held

One of the suspects is Brusthom Ziamani, believed to have attacked four officers and a nurse during cell unlocking at the high-security Cambridgeshire jail. Both Ziamani and a second man were arrested on Monday, March 2.

Serious Terror Charges

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the men, aged 24 and 26, face charges of conspiracy to murder and preparation of a terrorist act under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. Both suspects were moved from HMP Whitemoor to Paddington Green police station in London.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Two men have been arrested in connection with an attack on a prison officer at HMP Whitemoor on 9 January. Both remain in police custody and enquiries continue.”
