Burglary Shocker in Southsea: Tall Hooded Man Flees When Caught Red-Handed

Police are on the hunt for witnesses after a daring burglary attempt in Southsea on the night of Thursday, 19 September.

At around 10:30 PM, a masked man broke into a home on Percy Road. The intruder, described as tall and muscular with his hood up, was caught red-handed in the kitchen by the occupant. Spooked, he made a quick escape. So far, no items have been reported stolen.

Police Seek Eyewitnesses and CCTV Footage

Officers urge anyone who spotted a suspicious figure roaming Percy Road or nearby Manners Road that evening to step forward. They’re also keen on any CCTV, doorbell cam, or dashcam footage that could crack the case.

Police Warn to Lock Up as Warm Weather Lulls Residents

With the warm weather continuing, police remind homeowners to keep doors and windows locked, especially after dark. Back gates should be secured, and extra vigilance is advised for properties backing onto alleyways or blind spots without CCTV coverage.
