Hate Crime Shocker on Spen Valley Greenway

Kirklees CID is hunting witnesses after a shocking assault on Spen Valley Greenway near Kwik Fit and Asda on Wednesday, April 6. The attack happened between 7pm and 8pm, involving two males targeting a lone walker.

Two Mates Launch Hate-Fuelled Assault

The victim was subjected to verbal abuse before being physically attacked. He suffered minor injuries but was left shaken by the ordeal. Police have classified the incident as a hate crime due to the suspects’ comments during the assault.

Suspects Described: Police Want to Talk

  • Suspect One: Black male, around 6ft tall, slim, shaved head, moustache. Wore a dark blue hoodie, black joggers, white trainers, with a stretcher in one ear.
  • Suspect Two: Asian male, 6ft tall, slim, shaved head, stubble. Dressed in blue jeans and a dark top.

Witnesses reported that two people on push bikes arrived, causing the suspects to flee the scene. Police are keen to speak to these cyclists or anyone else who saw what happened.
