Three Teens Arrested After Man Murdered on Leysdown Beach
Police have launched a murder probe following the death of a man in Leysdown-on-Sea. Officers recovered a silver Volkswagen Golf, believed to belong to the victim, from a nearby car park as inquiries ramp up.
Fatal Attack Sparks Massive Police Presence
The brutal attack happened on the beach opposite a local pub on Sunday evening (10 August). Emergency services swarmed the Warden Bay Road area after reports of the incident.
Chris Prime, landlord of the pub, confirmed police reviewed CCTV footage from 12 cameras inside and outside his venue. “The man wasn’t inside the pub and hadn’t come from Warden Bay village,” he said.
“It is assumed he had come along the beach from the Leysdown direction,” Mr Prime explained. “We were alerted when asked to use the emergency defibrillator mounted on our property, which had been taken over before medics arrived.”
Mr Prime drove the defibrillator to the scene to help. He declined further comment, citing the ongoing investigation.
Three Teen Suspects in Custody
Police have arrested three teenagers—a 16-year-old girl and two boys aged 14 and 15—on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody as detectives continue their inquiries.
