Road Shut After Early Morning Rape Attack

Police have slammed a cordon across Crown Quay Lane in Sittingbourne following reports a woman was raped overnight. Officers rushed to the scene near Eurolink Way at 3:30am after the assault allegedly took place sometime between 11:30pm Friday and 1:30am Saturday.

Man Arrested As Investigation Unfolds, Local Firms Forced to Close

A 46-year-old man is now in custody, held on suspicion of rape as detectives continue to probe the horrific attack. The police cordon has forced several businesses in the area, including building supplier Jewsons, to shut their doors today.

A witness revealed officers warned the road could stay closed all day, snarling local traffic and disrupting trade.
