Teen Held After Spate of Car Fires Rocks Thanet

A 16-year-old boy is in custody following a string of vehicle arsons that sent shockwaves through Thanet before dawn on Wednesday.

Margate and Broadstairs Streets Hit by Flames

Kent Police rushed to four separate car fires erupting on Edgar Road and Northdown Road in Margate, and Upton Road in Broadstairs, just before first light on 8 October.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service smashed the blazes quickly, with no injuries reported.

Full Arson Probe Launched

The suspicious fires sparked an urgent investigation. Officers arrested the teenager at Upton Road at 7:11am the same morning. He remains in custody as detectives dig deeper.
