Bus Hits Two Kids in Serious Crash
A major road in Clapton Common turned into a nightmare on Saturday evening when a bus struck two children. One child was reportedly trapped under the vehicle. Emergency services rushed to the scene to provide immediate aid.
Police Launch Serious Collision Investigation
The Met Police have launched a serious collision investigation to uncover how the accident happened and who is responsible. Officers arrived shortly before 7pm and confirmed that the bus came to a stop at the scene. No arrests have been made.
Injured Children Taken to Hospital
Both children were rushed to hospital. While one child sustained more serious injuries, the second’s condition is believed to be less critical. Parents of both youngsters were reported to be at the hospital.
The Met Police said: “Police were called shortly before 7pm on Saturday, 20 January, to a bus in collision with two pedestrians in Clapton Common. Officers attended the scene. The two pedestrians, both children, have been taken to hospital for treatment. The parents of both children are with them at the hospital. The bus stopped at the scene. There has been no arrest.”
Update: Injuries No Longer Life-Threatening
Officers confirmed that injuries to the children are no longer life-threatening. The road has now reopened after being closed for the investigation and emergency response.
