Two Arrested After Shocking Assault at Brighton Beach
Police swooped on Brighton Beach after a brutal attack left a man injured on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The incident happened near the Kings Road Arches just after 5pm on June 23.
Victim Hospitalised with Facial Injuries
A 44-year-old man was the victim of the assault. Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of the attack. The man suffered facial injuries and was treated by paramedics before being transported to the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) for urgent care.
Two Men Held by Police
Officers arrested two men, aged 38 and 34, at the beach shortly after the attack. They remained in custody as of Monday afternoon as police launched an investigation.
“Two people were arrested after a man was assaulted in Kings Road Arches, Brighton, about 5.10pm on Sunday 23 June,” a Sussex Police spokesperson said. “The victim, a 44-year-old man, sustained facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The suspects, aged 38 and 34, remain in custody at this time.”
