Fire Breaks Out at Commercial Site in Newbury

A serious blaze involving acetylene cylinders has erupted at a commercial premises on the junction of Bath Road and Green Lane. The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 3:53pm on Tuesday, 7 June.

Firefighters Battling Blaze on Scene

Crews from Newbury, Windsor, and Theale rushed to the scene with an Incident Command Unit and two officers. They found a fire raging in a single-story building and have remained on site tackling the flames.

Safety Alert: Avoid the Area

A safety cordon is now in place. Residents and passersby are urged to steer clear of the area as the fire could take a long time to extinguish due to the dangerous acetylene cylinders involved.
