Blaze breaks out in Chart Road as flames leap from bin to garage cladding and fences.
Firefighters rush to tame roaring flames
Two fire engines raced to the scene after flames spread from a wheelie bin to the garage cladding and neighbouring fences. Crews doused the fire with hose reel jets, bringing it swiftly under control.
No injuries but warning issued
Thankfully, no casualties were reported. Firefighters are now warning residents not to toss hot items like cigarette butts or ashes into bins before they’ve fully cooled.
Safety tip: Leave all hot waste to cool completely before binning – or risk a dangerous fire blaze.
