Tragic Crash in Cannock Leaves Man Dead, Woman Seriously Injured

Emergency services rushed to Rawnsley Road, Hednesford, Cannock at 7.45pm on Sunday following a serious two-car collision. West Midlands Ambulance Service deployed two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and specialist critical care vehicles, including the Midlands Air Ambulance and Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance teams.

Man Dies at Scene Despite Lifesaving Efforts

On arrival, crews found a man in critical condition inside one of the crashed cars. Despite rapid trauma care, he was pronounced dead at the scene, confirmed by a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman.

“The driver of one car, a man, was in critical condition. The team worked together to administer trauma care but sadly nothing could be done to save him,” she said.

Woman Hurt, Others Walk Away Unscathed

A female passenger from the same vehicle suffered potentially serious injuries. Paramedics treated her on site before rushing her by land ambulance to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further care.

The driver and passenger from the other car escaped with minor injuries and were discharged at the scene as “walking wounded.”
