A woman known as @TheRealFlups on Twitter was left sobbing in her car after a man she met at IKEA called off their dinner date last Saturday. The reason? He claimed she was “bigger than he expected.”
She shared her raw feelings in a tearful tweet: “So… I’m having a little cry right now in my car. This afternoon, I foolishly went on a date. We met at IKEA and were supposed to go out to dinner. He called me as I was driving there to say he didn’t want to continue. What’s the reason? I’m bigger than he expected.”

Her pain deepened as she admitted: “My already low self-esteem has plummeted through the floor. I’m so fat and ugly. So, in response to my question about what’s wrong with me, I suppose I’ve found out.”
Still in the IKEA parking lot and “sobbing,” she revealed her face was “a hideous mess” and she couldn’t even comfort-shop. She recalled painful insults from her ex-husband, who called her “Barry” after Britain’s fattest man. “My heart is even more broken, and my confidence has vanished,” she confessed.

The post exploded with nearly 3,000 supportive messages. One follower said: “I know you’re feeling down now, but once you get back up, you’ll see he did you a favour. You didn’t waste time on a pathetic bloke. You’re worth a thousand dollars to him.”
