BBC Snags Spooky Supernatural Drama ‘Mayfair Witches’

The BBC has bagged the hit supernatural drama Mayfair Witches, based on Anne Rice’s best-selling novels. The eight-part series, produced by AMC Networks, is set to air on BBC Two and stream on iPlayer soon.

Star-Studded Cast Brings Dark Magic to Life

Featuring Emmy® nominee Alexandra Daddario (The White Lotus), alongside Jack Huston (House of Gucci, Fargo), Harry Hamlin (Mad Men), and Tongayi Chirisa (Palm Springs, Antebellum), the show promises gripping supernatural thrills. Daddario plays Rowan, a brilliant neurosurgeon who discovers she’s the heir to a sinister family of witches. As she learns to control her powers, Rowan must face a dark force haunting her family for generations.

Following the Success of ‘Interview with the Vampire’

This new drama arrives hot on the heels of BBC Two’s critical hit Interview with the Vampire, another Anne Rice adaptation. Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition, hails Mayfair Witches as “a darkly distinctive and atmospherically rich companion” to that popular series.

Top Tumblers Behind the Scenes

The BBC secured Mayfair Witches from AMC Networks with top showrunners Esta Spalding (Masters of Sex) and Michelle Ashford (John Adams) on executive producer duties, alongside Mark Johnson. Episodes are directed by Michael Uppendahl, Axelle Carolyn, Haifaa al-Mansour, and Alexis Ostrander, promising a brooding and cinematic experience.

Anne Rice fans and lovers of eerie supernatural dramas won’t want to miss Mayfair Witches — coming soon to BBC Two and iPlayer.
