Woman’s Body Found Floating Off Brighton Coast
An urgent investigation is underway after the body of a woman was discovered floating roughly five miles off Brighton on Saturday, April 19.

The grim discovery was made just before midday when a member of the public spotted the body in the water. Brighton RNLI’s B-class lifeboat, Random Harvest, was scrambled at 11:52am. The crew swiftly recovered the woman and brought her ashore at Brighton Marina, where police, coastguards, and ambulance teams were already waiting.
Police Launch Full Investigation
“Police were called at around 12.30pm on Saturday, April 19 after a woman’s body was found by a member of the public in the sea about five miles off the coast of Brighton. The RNLI recovered the body,” said a Sussex Police spokesperson.
“Enquiries are ongoing, alongside partner agencies, to identify the woman and establish the full circumstances of the situation.”
No details about the woman’s identity have been released yet.

Authorities have appealed for anyone with information to come forward and help with the investigation.
