RNLI Lifeboat Rushed to Scene

The RNLI Alfred Albert Williams lifeboat from Bembridge was launched just before 6pm today (Sunday, April 24). The call came from Solent Coastguard after a passenger on the Brittany Ferry Bretagne spotted someone in the water roughly two miles south of Bembridge Ledge.

Horrific Discovery at Sea

When crews arrived, they were met with heartbreaking news — a body was recovered at the scene. The victim was taken back to Bembridge Lifeboat Station and handed over to local police for investigation.
