Drama at Folkestone Harbour: 10-Year-Old Rescued from Mud

A ten-year-old boy was plucked to safety by brave firefighters and coastguard teams after getting stuck in thick mud at Folkestone Harbour on Sunday morning.

The boy and a woman were trapped and sinking near The Stade, sparking an emergency call. This harrowing rescue came just a day after three others were hauled from the mud close by.

Firefighters and Coastguard Join Forces

  • Two fire engines and a water rescue unit raced to the scene.
  • Multiple coastguard teams arrived to assist.
  • The woman somehow managed to free herself and began helping the boy.
  • Using an air lance, crews dug the youngster out and carried him safely to dry land.

Both the woman and child were handed over to paramedics from SECAmb for medical checks after their ordeal.
