UK Coastguard Launch Rescue for Injured Pensioner on Isle of Wight

The UK coastguard sprang into action this afternoon (Sunday, April 28) to rescue an injured pensioner on the Isle of Wight. Bembridge coastguard search and rescue team were called out just after 2pm to assist emergency services at Lane End Road.

Pensioner Falls Face-First Near Holiday Village

The injured man, staying at nearby Warner’s holiday village, reportedly fell face-first prompting an urgent response. The Isle of Wight ambulance and fire and rescue services also rushed to the scene.

Basket Stretcher Used in Careful Recovery

Coastguard rescuers used a basket stretcher to safely remove the pensioner from the area. He was then handed over to Isle of Wight ambulance crews for further medical care.
