Crown Jewels Light Show to Dazzle UK Landmarks Ahead of Coronation

Get ready for a royal spectacle! The Crown Jewels will be projected onto the Tower of London before touring iconic landmarks across the UK. This dazzling light and sound show is part of the grand celebrations for Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort’s Coronation.

Huge Coronation Events Set to Unite Communities

  • More than 100,000 people expected to attend live Coronation screenings at 57 sites nationwide.
  • 50,000 Coronation Big Lunches are planned, bringing communities together for street parties.

The immersive ‘Crown and Coronation’ show, created by Historic Royal Palaces and Luxmuralis, will deliver a visual and musical journey through coronation history. It launches with a projection on the Tower of London this autumn before hitting venues across all four nations.

The government has also confirmed more screening locations in places like Ely Cathedral, Trinity Market in Hull, and Alnwick Castle, Northumberland. This means over 100,000 people will watch the Coronation live in their hometowns.

Join the Big Lunch and The Big Help Out

Communities are invited to celebrate with street parties during Coronation weekend (6-8 May). Over 32,000 Coronation Big Lunch packs have been ordered, supporting around 50,000 neighbourhood events attended by millions. Eighty percent of organisers are first-timers, showcasing a surge in community spirit.

Events range from a youth centre Big Lunch in Shetland to a community carnival in Morecambe and a paddle board Big Lunch in Bude, Cornwall.

Monday 8 May, an extra Bank Holiday, will host The Big Help Out, encouraging hundreds of thousands to volunteer. Organisations from the Scouts to Royal Voluntary Service and local volunteering groups have signed up to inspire a new generation of helpers.
