Trapped by Tide at Camber Sands: Dramatic Coastguard Rescue!
During a routine patrol, HM Coastguard Romney Marsh sprang into action after the Solent Operations room flagged multiple people stranded by the rising tide at Camber Sands on Wednesday evening.
Stranded on a Wreck, Surrounded by Water
Sussex Police arrived to find two individuals stuck on a wreck, already engulfed by water. Coastguards wasted no time, diving in with tethered lines to reach the trapped pair. The Pett Level Independent Rescue Boat joined the mission, playing a vital role in bringing the casualties safely back to shore.
Emergency Services Stand Ready
Once ashore, South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAMB) met the rescued with urgent care. Backup support came from HM Coastguard Rye Bay and RNLI Rye Harbour Lifeboat Station, ensuring the operation ran smoothly.
