Emergency Crews Rescue Person Trapped in Mud in Portsmouth
Major Rescue Operation at Mountbatten Centre
Emergency services sprang into action just after 12:30am on Saturday when a person became trapped in mud at the Mountbatten Centre in Hilsea, Portsmouth.
Coastguards, Firefighters, Police Join Forces
Two coastguard search and rescue teams from Portsmouth and Hillhead teamed up with South Central Ambulance Service, Hampshire Fire and Rescue, and local police for the dramatic rescue. Fire crews from Cosham also backed up the coastguard effort.
Trapped Person Safely Freed and Taken to Safety
The individual was safely extricated from the muddy trap and handed over to Hampshire Constabulary for further care.
