Witnesses reported the first ambulance arriving just after 6pm, quickly followed by a second. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance also touched down at the nearby Ventnor 1 Club, joining the race against time.

The incident forced the closure of Mitchell Avenue, prompting Southern Vectis to divert its Route 3 bus service. Passengers faced delays as a result of the emergency response.

Serious Overdose Case Airlifted to Mainland Hospital

Sources reveal the patient, believed to have suffered an overdose, was first transported a short distance with the air ambulance doctor onboard before being flown to a mainland hospital for urgent treatment.
