Huge Blaze Erupts at Derelict Hastings Building

At 4.18pm today, East Sussex Fire Service rushed to a derelict building on Havelock Road, Hastings, after reports of thick smoke billowing from the site. Ten fire engines, including a powerful Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP), sprang into action to battle the fierce flames.

Firefighters Fight Fire with Full Force

The fire was so intense crews immediately suited up with breathing apparatus (BA), deploying four BA sets. Firefighters used a main jet alongside foam to douse the blaze and keep it from spreading further.

Public Told to Steer Clear

Authorities have warned the public to avoid the area if possible. Nearby residents have been urged to keep windows and doors shut to block out dangerous smoke and protect their health.

No Injuries, Cause Still Unknown

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported at this stage. The cause of the fire and the full scale of damage remain unknown. Investigators will start their inquiries once the fire is fully under control.
