Massive Blaze Tears Through Dagenham Industrial Estate

Firefighters battled a huge blaze at an industrial estate on Kemp Road, Dagenham, tonight. Multiple industrial units and several vehicles were engulfed in flames.

Smoke Fears Force Residents Indoors

Station Commander Paul Green, on scene, warned locals: “Nearby residents were advised to keep their doors and windows closed while crews worked to extinguish the blaze as there was heavy smoke in the area.”

Emergency Services Swarm the Scene

  • The fire brigade received over 50 urgent calls.
  • Firefighters were called out at 5:14pm.
  • The fire was declared under control at 9:48pm.
  • 12 fire engines and around 80 firefighters from Barking, Dagenham, Hainault, Ilford, Romford, Tottenham, and nearby stations tackled the inferno.
  • Crews will continue damping down through the night.

Cause of Blaze Under Scrutiny

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far. Fire investigators are now probing the cause of the massive fire that wreaked havoc at the industrial estate.
