HGV Blaze on Jubilee Way: Fire Put Out but Recovery Ongoing

Fuel Removed Safely Amid Recovery Efforts
Using breathing apparatus and specialist equipment, firefighters teamed up with National Highways to carefully defuel the HGV. The operation was delicate, aiming to avoid further risk.

On August 4, emergency crews doused the fire, reopening one lane of Jubilee Way. Firefighters treated one person at the scene for a minor hand cut.
Kent Police managed traffic and helped secure the area, while the Highways Agency handled incident oversight.

Four fire engines raced to tackle the blaze on the A2 near Dover’s Duke of York’s roundabout. Crews used compressed air foam and breathing gear to swiftly put out the fire.
Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported. However, to keep everyone safe, the road remains closed as cleanup and recovery continue.
