Labour’s Rachel Reeves Slams Tory Tax Cuts as “Uncosted and Unfunded” Ahead of Election
Labour Ready to Launch Manifesto
Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced Labour’s manifesto is “ready” to drop. Speaking during a campaign stop at a west London supermarket, Reeves didn’t hold back. She slammed the Tory tax plans as reckless and underfunded, warning voters of history repeating itself.
Warning Over Tory Mini-Budget Disaster
Reeves took aim at the Conservative Party’s promises, comparing their tax cut proposals to Liz Truss’s much-criticised mini-budget from just 18 months ago. “The Conservatives have now put forward a number of un-costed, unfunded tax cuts just like what Liz Truss did,” she said.
“I want taxes on working people to be lower, but the Conservatives’ approach risks another five years of economic chaos.”
The Fight Over Funding and Taxes Heats Up
Critics claim scrapping national insurance could leave a £46 billion hole in the budget and push taxes higher for pensioners. But Tory Chancellor Jeremy Hunt slammed those claims as “fake news.” With tax policy becoming the election battleground, the public faces a clear choice between Labour’s serious funding plans and the Tories’ gamble on risky tax cuts.
