Life-Threatening Crash Shuts Sandown to Newport Road
A serious smash involving a motorbike and a car has shut the main Sandown to Newport road on the Isle of Wight.
Collision Sparks Road Closure
The crash happened just before 10am on Friday on the A3056, outside the 1 of Chilli, between Winford Road and Watery Lane.
Police from the Armed Response Roads Policing Unit quickly sealed off the road in both directions while they deal with the scene.
Motorcyclist in Critical Condition
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service rushed to treat the rider, who suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.
The road closure remains in place and is expected to last for several hours as officers investigate.
