Man Found Unconscious After Gourock Train Station Incident

A 48-year-old man was discovered unconscious with facial injuries on Shore Street, Gourock, around 9pm on Saturday, 10 December 2022. He had just got off a train from Glasgow Central Station and was later treated at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

Police Hunt Group of Young Men Over Train Disturbance

Detective Constable Ruth Elder from Greenock CID revealed a group of young men is key to the investigation. She said:

“We are keen to speak to a group of young men, one of whom had been on the train from Glasgow that arrived in Gourock just before 9pm.

“Our enquiries suggest there was a disturbance involving a slim, white man in his 20s with dark hair, wearing a dark coat. He seemed to be alone on the train but joined other casually dressed men in their 20s outside Gourock Train Station.

“Several people helped the injured man, and while we have spoken to some witnesses, we urgently want to hear from anyone who saw the incident on the train or on Shore Street outside the station.”
