Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a 23-year-old man in Hackney have released the names and images of two men they urgently want to trace. The Metropolitan Police launched a murder investigation after officers were called to Andre Street, Hackney, on Monday 13 July, where a 23-year-old man was found with fatal stab injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the victim died following the attack.

Detectives release names

As enquiries continue, investigators have identified two men they wish to speak to in connection with the murder investigation. Police are appealing for information to help locate:

  • Cavalli Harriott, 22, from Hackney.
  • Jayqwan Stevens-Burke, 23, who is known to frequent both Hackney and Grays, Essex.

Detectives believe the pair may have information that could be vital to the investigation and are urging them, or anyone who knows their whereabouts, to come forward immediately.

Appeal to the public

The Metropolitan Police are asking anyone who has seen either man or has information about their whereabouts not to approach them, but instead contact police as soon as possible. Anyone with information is asked to call the Metropolitan Police on 101, quoting reference 4139/13Jul. Information can also be provided anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers. The investigation into the fatal stabbing remains ongoing.
