A cold-blooded killer has been found guilty of murdering a young accounting student on the tracks at Strawberry Hill station.
Brutal Attack Over £50 Drug Deal
Dino Donaldson, 21, from Ealing, was convicted of murder at London’s Old Bailey on 14 April. He stabbed 21-year-old Anojan Gnaneswaran multiple times after a botched drug deal went sour on 8 January 2024. The two groups had arranged a £50 deal for 10 MDMA tablets at the West London station. Donaldson and his friends showed up just after 10pm, with Anojan arriving an hour later. Tensions flared, leading Anojan to call his brother for backup. In a shocking turn, Donaldson pulled a long knife and chased Anojan onto the railway tracks, stabbing him in the chest, abdomen, and thigh. Despite emergency CPR and paramedic efforts, Anojan died at the scene.
Killer’s Callous Escape and Arrest
After the attack, CCTV footage tracked Donaldson fleeing through Twickenham to Kingston Upon Thames. Less than an hour after Anojan was declared dead, CCTV on a night bus showed Donaldson laughing and smiling. Police later found the murder weapon and a black glove in a tree near the scene, both with DNA evidence linking Donaldson and Anojan. Donaldson was caught hiding in a cupboard at his home three days later.
Detective Slams Killer’s Cowardice
“What started as an argument over a drug deal ended in a young man’s life being cut short by a remorseless thug,” said Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell. “Donaldson showed his true colours as a coward by arming himself with a knife. His cowardice continued by never accepting responsibility.” “The jury saw through his lies. No verdict can ever compensate for Anojan’s loss, but justice has now been served,” he added.
Donaldson is due to be sentenced at the Old Bailey on 19 June.
