Massive Nationwide Test Set to Shake Smartphones
Get ready to jump! On Saturday, 7 September at 3pm, millions of mobile phones across the UK will blast out a loud emergency alert. This is the UK government’s second major nationwide test of its Emergency Alerts system.
About 87 million 4G and 5G devices will vibrate and ring with a piercing high-pitched alarm for up to 10 seconds, with a sharp on-screen warning flashing at the same time.
