Ex-Salisbury poison victim reveals tense recovery and refusal to speak to media.
“Grateful for Hospital Care”
Discharged from Salisbury District Hospital on April 9, 2018, the nerve agent victim praised the staff’s expertise and kindness. “I missed the staff immediately,” they said.
Family Still Seriously Ill
While they begin their own recovery, the victim’s father remains in hospital, seriously ill. Both continue to suffer the lingering effects of the deadly nerve agent attack.
Under Protection, But Staying Mum
With specially trained officers helping and explaining the ongoing investigation, the victim is feeling safer but far from strong enough for a full media interview.
“No one speaks for me or my father except ourselves,” they stressed. “I thank my cousin Viktoria for her concern, but ask that she does not visit or contact me. Her opinions are not ours.”
Russian Embassy Contact Offered, But Declined—for Now
The victim revealed they have been offered help by contacts at the Russian Embassy but have declined to use it—for now. They keep the option open if needed.
For now, the victim urges privacy and patience while coming to terms with a drastically changed life.
